The Kintsugi Wall Light handcrafted by Sarah Tracton is more than lighting—it’s a functional work of art, uniting craftsmanship and contemporary design through masterful ceramic artistry.
Each piece transforms broken porcelain into a sculptural form of renewal, repaired with genuine gold leaf in the tradition of Kintsugi, meaning “golden repair.” When illuminated, the porcelain radiates a soft, ethereal glow, its delicate translucency revealing golden seams that celebrate imperfection and beauty.
The Kintsugi Wall Light transforms broken porcelain - shattered in the heat of firing - into a luminous work of renewal. Each piece is repaired with genuine gold leaf, embracing imperfection and reducing waste through circular design.
When illuminated, the porcelain reveals a celestial, diaphanous glow. This ethereal translucency is achieved through a slow, layered process: porcelain slip is poured onto plaster, gently lifted, dried over several days, and fired twice to 1280°C.
